NASH
NASH (Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis) is a silent disease that progresses slowly, is often diagnosed incidentally, and can lead to life-threatening hepatic and cardiovascular co-morbidities, if ignored. Current estimates are that up to 30% of the UK population maybe affected.
NASH can lead to serious liver damage, including cirrhosis and liver cancer, and potentially the need for a liver transplant.
Risk Factors
Some individuals are more at risk for NASH than others. Indeed, some conditions are recognised as risk factors for NASH:
Obese BMI >30
Type 2 Diabetes
High Blood Pressure
High Cholesterol
If you have been diagnosed with NASH or have one or more of the above risk factors, then we would like to talk to you. We are inviting volunteers to participate in clinical trials aimed at gaining a deeper insight into this condition and to assist in the discovery of new treatments.
Your medical history and other aspects of your health will also be reviewed to determine if you are able to participate in the study.
Registering your interest does not require you to make an immediate decision about participation. Should you choose to join, may withdraw from the trial at any time.
